Electricity Sources and Uses in San Diego County

The chart shows Electricity sources and uses in SD County.  The generation sources are Natural Gas 87.1%; Nuclear 10.5%, Wind around 1%; Hydro around 1%; Solar less than 1% and digester/landfill gasses negligible. Uses are: Commercial 40%; Residential 34%; Transportation 9%; Industrial 8%; Agriculture 1%; Street Lighting 1% and Mining 1%. Additional Chart components are Storage between 2 and 5 % and Transmission Losses of 7%.

In 2009 San Diego County used 23,000 Gigawatt-hours in Electrical Energy of the 100,000 GWh of Total Energy Used.
