Introduction

My final project proposal is a website that will showcase artwork done by my younger sister, Nella. I chose this topic because I feel that her work is brilliant and should be given exposure. I also think that this project would be a great way for us to bond, work together, and have fun. The website will be called "Nella's Wonderful World of Art."

Site Goals

Through this site, others will be able to view my sister's artwork. Nella has posted pictures of her work on social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace, but that isn't enough. As of now, her work's exposure is limited to the confines of family and friends. This site will provide the means for anyone and everyone who has a passion for art to appreciate the beauty of her work.

Audience

This site is for those who call themselves fans of art and expression. The specific target audience will be people outside of Nella's family and friends who don't know about her work. The target audience will include both teens and young adults, students, artists, and maybe even people who have ties to art shows and galleries.

Audience Profile

Ashley is a 20-year old student with a part-time job at a local restaurant. She makes $15,000 a year but is surprisingly independent. She is an avid user of the internet and enjoys using Facebook. Her interests include art, photography and graphic design. She is always looking for different ways to express herself and finds inspiration in the work of others.

Client

The client is my younger sister, Nella. She is an independent artist.

Interface

Since the site is for artists and art fans in general, the interface will include smaller images of artwork that will be linked to higher-quality images. File size will maintain a balance of web functionality and image quality. The website will contain simple navigation schemes so focus primarily remains on the artwork.

Sketches

Sketch of Website

The home page will follow the sketch above. The page designs will be simple but effective, therefore allowing the reader's focus to be on the artwork and not elsewhere on the page. The subpages will follow a similar design and pattern to the home page.
