GD 217 covers principles, concepts, and production of Web graphics
using Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks, and Dreamweaver.
Before you take GD 217, you should be proficient with Photoshop. You should be able to create and upload a simple Web site using Dreamweaver (or you should be concurrently enrolled in CIS 212.)
GD 217 will be offered a blended (partly online) Fall 2010. Students need access to a reliable computer with a high bandwidth Internet connection. You may use computers in the GD or CIS labs or open labs. See How an Online Class Works for details.
Fall 2010 Students
Fall classes begin August 23. I'm still working on updating the web site.
Class will meet Monday & Wednesday from 12:30 - 2:00 in room E-224. Students will need to schedule an additional 2-6 hours per week for online instruction and homework.
The class is now full. If you are interested in the class, get on the wait list and show up at the first class - we should know fairly quickly whether there is space for you.
Textbooks - available online or soon at the campus bookstore

Getting Started
Jodi uses Moodle for class management (quizzes, grades, turning in work, discussion). Moodle accounts are set up the weekend before classes begin. All course Web pages link to the Moodle login. Let Jodi know if you are unable to log in to Moodle after the first day of class with your college user name (usually first.last) and password usually 6-digit birthday.
Attend the first in-class section for a course overview.
Web Graphics is part of a Web Development Major at Cuyamaca College in El Cajon, California. We also offer certificates in Web Design, Web Programming, and Web Server Management.
